Down to The Minute Analysis Adam Schoenfeld Blogger Extraordinaire Simply Measured

We just launched a small, but very handy little feature in Simply Measured reports that gives you access to more granular analysis and reporting. When generating reports, you’ll now see a little blue clock icon (as shown below). Simply click on the clock to unlock more detailed time ranges (yeah, that rhyme was intentional).

While we’ve always allowed for by minute charting in our Excel reports, now you can report on more granular time ranges and quickly view the results on the web. This makes it easier to work with large datasets and quickly drill down to the most important timeframes. Given the immediacy of social media, this level of detail can give deeper insights around major events, announcements, or campaigns.

For an example, take a look at the by minute chart for Tweets including #SXSW on 3/12 during an hour of the Jay-Z concert. We can see that most of the #SXSW conversation focused on Jay-Z and American Express during this timeframe, but there was some activity about Sean Parker (who attended the concert) and Posterous (acquired by Twitter during SXSW).
