[Product Update] Removing PTAT and Legacy Facebook Page Insights Lindzee McCain Blogger Extraordinaire Simply Measured

Last October, Facebook announced they were phasing out the People Talking About This (PTAT) metric from Page Insights. As many of our customers rely on PTAT as a key performance indicator, we chose to continue providing the metric until it was officially deprecated from their API this summer.

That time has come, and on June 17th we’ll remove PTAT from the following reports:

  • Complete Social Media Snapshot
  • Facebook Fan Page
  • Facebook Fan Page with Sentiment
  • Facebook Competitive Analysis
  • Facebook Customer Service Analysis
  • Facebook Global Pages
  • Facebook Page Insights
  • Multiple Facebook Channel Analysis

Because legacy metrics like PTAT will no longer be offered by Facebook, the Legacy Facebook Page Insights report will be also removed from our offerings. Learn more about the current Page Insights report here.

Our updates won’t be released until June 17th, so you’ll have plenty of time to replace PTAT if you haven’t already. For more insight into why Facebook made the change and what you should measure in its place, check out this post from our “Facebook Metrics Defined” series.
