The city of San Francisco and the @MakeAWish Foundation are doing something awesome today. Miles, a 5-year-old boy with Leukemia, wished to be Batman for a day… and they’re making that happen. For one day, San Francisco will transform into Gotham City. Miles will receive an emergency call from the police chief, ride in the Bat-Mobile and, of course, fight crime.
The whole city has teamed up to create this day for Miles, but people from around the world are participating in the event through social media. Thanks to a push from Clever Girls Collective, support on social for #SFBatKid has been outstanding so far. Co-Founder, Kristy Sammis, states, “.. the outpouring has been constant and unbelievable. So positive, so loving and supportive.”
This morning, #SFBatKid had amassed over 44,000 mentions on Twitter.
We can’t wait to see how the rest of the day plays out. Follow Miles’ #SFBatKid on Twitter and Instagram! Here are some of the highlights on social so far.
