During the Super Bowl, brands took to Twitter to interact with each other. Tide, JcPenny, and others did a great job of creatively involving other brands and their audiences.
This past week, we saw something very similar from fast food chains. Although not all of these Tweets are as well-intentioned as those during the Super Bowl, we have to give them credit for creativity!
Taco Bell got a little sassy with fast-food chain White Castle. Taco Bell did a nice job of keeping an eye on the competition and the conversations they were having with their audience.
Instead of getting too worked up over a silly typo, White Castle decided to roll with the punches and poke a little fun at themselves. Points for a good sense of humor!
@PizzaHut & @HVRanch
Hidden Valley Ranch jumped on the opportunity play around with Pizza Hut. Their original Vine to Pizza Hut only received 6 favorites, but Pizza Hut’s response (which included their vine) got over 70 engagements! And come on, who doesn’t like a little ranch dressing with their pizza?
Burger King is definitely keeping an eye on their keywords. @Played_well has less than 4k followers, and only 60 or so Tweets. Yet, Burger King was able to dig this graphic up (out of the thousands of “Burger King” mentions they get on Twitter) and repurpose it into a clever Tweet with over 600 mentions. Not to mention, they get to poke fun at their rival. Well played indeed.
Check back next week for more tweets from the week!
