Today, Tumblr released their second mobile ad unit, “Sponsored Trending Blogs.” With this latest feature, brands can now easily grab users’ attention and promote their products.
Since their Yahoo acquisition, Tumblr has been making moves to help brands generate revenue from the platform, and this latest addition is a giant step in that direction.
Thus far, we’ve only caught a quick glimpse of this new feature, with 20th Century Fox’s “Devils Due” movie making the debut. However, other companies like Delta, Calvin Klein, and Sony Pictures have already signed up to take part in the beta trial.
Come January, these sponsored blogs will become commonplace. Until then, the soft roll-out continues and can be found on iOs and Android apps, in the Explore section. We expect to see many more brands joining, spending and building out communities on this network in the near future.
