Tonight’s the night, Game of Thrones fans. Our beloved show is returning after a long and cold Winter beyond the wall. The 30-second trailers, the teaser TV spots, and the Tweets… Needless to say, we’re very excited. How have brands been capitalizing on GOT’s extreme fandom? We’re willing to bet that some die hard Game of Thrones fans would have no problem booking their trip to Ireland after tonight’s premiere. Ok, that might be a stretch. But regardless, Tourism Ireland did a great job of getting their name, and beautiful scenery, out there.
Give credit where credit is due! A Game of Social Thrones is a pretty epic video, and a great example of a brand going above and beyond to relate to their audience and their interests.
Fashion and Game of Thrones aren’t the most intuitive pairing, but Elle makes it work. Spinning something to align with your audience’s interest and brand voice is not easy, but this piece by Elle is spot-on and will definitely appeal certain Game of Thrones fans.
Entertainment Weekly strayed from the norm on this one. Quizzes and trivia are a great way to get your fans energized and engaged. Half the battle is sparking people to participate, but with something people care about, like Game of Thrones, your chances are pretty solid. Kudos to Entertainment Weekly for taking a unique approach!
Jimmy Fallon has been on the Game of Thrones bandwagon for a while now. Last year, he did this sketch as a tribute to Game of Throne’s latest season. This Tweet’s 200+ engagements just goes to show you that the expiration on that GOT content you made last year, might not be up just yet.
Although this Tweet isn’t directly related to Game of Thrones, Dawn’s Tweet is really funny and H&R Block’s response is pretty clever. Tax companies using Gifs and GOT references? Well done, well done.
