Luxury brands have taken center stage on Instagram and Pinterest. And why shouldn’t they? The visual focus of each network plays to the strengths of any luxury brand, and they’re struggling to gain a footing on other social mediums.
During our quarterly study of Interbrand 100 companies on Instagram last month, we found that Instagram’s audience for top brands outweighs Pinterest’s 15-1, even though Pinterest has drawn the attention of a higher percentage of brands.
While Pinterest boasts 76% of top brands, only 67% of the Interbrand list is active on Instagram. Of those 67 brands, the most active industry is Luxury Brands.
