We’re on the front lines of the good and the bad, as we watch brand-to-customer interactions unfold in front of our very eyes. It doesn’t take long until you’ve assembled a dossier on your brand. Not much gets past a brand’s audience, which means nothing gets by a social media manager.

#1) How Sophisticated Your Audience Is
Nobody knows your audience better than a social media manager. He or she interacts with your brand’s ride-or-die’s everyday. Is your audience quick-witted? Do they appreciate humor or dry facts? Is your audience sophisticated…or more on the simple side?
A good social media manager knows these audience characteristics innately, which makes him or her a great resource for planning marketing campaigns, even ones outside the purview of social. Don’t sleep on this in-house font of knowledge.

Social media managers might not have the best insight into who your sales team is losing deals to…but they do know who holds the power of influence on social.
