What Happened at LIFT 2016?

I can’t believe LIFT 2016 is over. Over here at Simply Measured, we’re in full recovery mode.

But for those of you who couldn’t make it this year–or just want to relive the glory–we’ve put together some major highlights.

1. We Learned from the Networks Themselves.

In LIFT 2016’s closing keynote, Vishal Shah, Head of Monetization at Instagram, taught the audience about how to create effective content specifically for Instagram.

In his fireside chat with Adam Schoenfeld, our VP of Strategy, Chris Moody talked candidly about the need for brands to be friendly, timely, personable, and non-robotic on Twitter–or face the consequences. He also spoke about topics as wide-ranging as disaster planning and “turning trolls to changes.”

2. FastCompany Dropped Some Knowledge on Us, Too.

Robert Safian, Editor in chief of FastCompany, gave a well-received talk and Q&A session about how to make an impact on social in an era of unprecedented rapid change.

3. We Had Some Incredible Panelists and Sessions.

We love poring over the feedback we received about our breakout sessions this year. Uri Bar-Joseph, Simply Measured’s VP of Marketing, was a hit in his session about defining social success, evolving the Social Metrics Map he created into a blueprint for success to push social marketers a step further towards real change.

Josh Harcus taught us about social selling: how to do it well, and how to enable your employees to do it well, too.

And Shanda Maloney, Social Director of the UFC, discussed measuring influence and how to identify, structure, and measure influencer campaigns to find the most value.

4. We Ate, Drank, and Made Merry

From chocolate-covered bacon, an oyster bar, and more variations of slider than I knew existed…

…to an amazing dance party and special cocktails with titles like “Slide Into the DM’s”…

…LIFT 2016 really threw it down this year. As you can tell from the photobooth pictures.

5. We Launched a Breakthrough Product!
